![]() You know nothing by being told. This holds true even if the writer or speaker has accurate information. Whatever information you might learn about India, the reality of India can only be realised by going there. In this age of communication and ideas, much of the information especially in media is speculation, inaccurate or written by people that have their own agendas. All paths have an outer and inner layer. The purpose of the outer layer, is to gather and order our perception of our world. So that we can approach that inner layer and experience it. This process assuages our fear so that we can act. Its as if we were forging a coin of everything we have identified and through doing so develop the courage to gamble on that which is beyond our description, or even of describing. Our mythology around death, has us paying the ferryman with a coin to cross the river of death, the river Styx. Close your eyes, breathe, enter into that forge that is inside you and mint that coin of freedom, from all that calls your attention away. Enter the volcano of your being, what is real will never be destroyed. ![]() We have two basic facets to our awareness. For well-being and growth both facets need addressing. One side is our mysterious side, the other is the realm of reason. Our mysterious side, our female side is our left side, the unknown. It is the centre of intuition and is a non-linear awareness. The right side is host to our linear awareness, a world that has been ordered according to a system. It is known as our male side. Adepts have expanded their descriptions and developed new systems. Systems that cross-culturally basically agree on many aspects of awareness. Our left side is the side of dreaming and silence. It is largely invisible to our right side awareness, reason. In fact our reason, our self-chatter, is the barrier to this other facet of our awareness. We are creatures of reason. However our reason needs ordering before it is ready for expansion. Before the age of reason the world was lost to superstition. In these times it is lost to the rational. Adepts have a very pragmatic way of working with the two bodies, the left and right. We can liken it to a metalworker who shapes the pot on an anvil of a particular shape and beats with a precise hammer, created for the job. The anvil is dreaming, awareness practices and silence. Dreaming sets an intent for expansion. The hammer is knowledge of the minutiae of our lives, through direct observation. It leads to the conscious manipulation of behaviour to become more available and open to our nature. A nature beyond the duality of the world we inhabit. The practices of awareness are more available than they have ever been. There is a great need for them in this crazy world. Make use of what is available, discover a place of well-being within you, beyond the machinations of the world and shine out your light and understanding. ![]() There is a place so subtle and indescribable that is too frolicsome to be identified as anywhere, or anything. Its presence imbues all that exists with vibration, life and consciousness. When we stop naming and describing the world, the world falls away and what fills us, is this presence. Turn down the volume of the world and witness that incredible symphony of being that arises in you. This is a place of clarity, of simplicity, of understanding and harmony. Here now is where it and you exists. As they come together what a joy, what a fulfilment, what a peace in simple being. This place is calling us. ![]() We are in the physical to get physical. Giving attention to the mind/body with consistency opens us and activates the astral or energy body. This energy body is available to us all. Developing the energy body has always been practiced by adepts. Now it is our turn. Consciousness, In whatever way we practice it, is the door to our realisation of those parts of us, that remain hidden. Mood follows posture and posture follows mood, is a powerful aphorism that Carlos Castaneda lived by. He invited others to do the same. Stretch, shake the body, breathe deeply. Develop postures of body and breath, that bring out the best in you. We are Energy beings. Climbing the spirals of energy, that are activated with attention, brings us to ourselves, in all of our wonder. ![]() Sometimes the peak of the mountain, that we dream of standing on seems so far away. The body can be tired, the elements daunting. We can become weary, disillusioned and doubt our ability to accomplish our goal. Life has ups and downs. Sometimes we feel invincible, sometimes vulnerable. This is how it is. Despite these fluctuations we have fulfilled so many yearnings in our lives. Every trekker knows sometimes the journey will be arduous, difficult and dangerous. It is the nature, of high altitude trekking. Common whilst trekking is to see discarded luggage by the side of the path. An arduous journey shows us what is necessary and what to let go of. Trekkers realise what is expedient, to accomplish the journey. Trekkers know all journeys are accomplished step by step. They return to simplicity. Sometimes one breath, one step and then a breath or two to rest. Little oxygen, snow, ice, steep inclines, ravines, crevices and high winds may assail trekkers. Necessity teaches them to pick themselves up after poorly navigating obstacles, or falling. Necessity dictates it. This is the adventure. Trekking is a good metaphor. It hints at the roots of pilgrimage embodying physicality. It embraces the freedom of open space and timelessness. It reflects that pilgrimage to the heart from which all may be explored. Our struggles, triumphs, and failures are par for the course. The peak may be far. Yet there is Earth under our feet, Sky above our head. Life fills us. We chose this journey and will choose others. Bon Voyage. |
